Incident Summary:Prior to the match, the Richmond coaches came to the referees to have their Suspension Verification Forms signed. In the 29th minute a Richmond player was sent off and a San Pablo player yellow carded. At halftime, the Richmond coach sent 2 teenage spectators across to approach the referees and try to reverse the call. At the time, spectators from both teams were arguing. It is alleged that the two suspended Richmond coaches were coaching from the spectator side during the game. After the match the coach attempted to convince the referees after the match to convince them not to report the red card or the behavior of the suspended coach.
Comments:The referees of this match were minors. The PAD Committee makes the following rulings:
1. The two suspended Richmond coaches, Santiago Mendoza and Eduardo Hernandez, should not have been coaching from either the spectator side or the Technical Area.
2. Richmond should not have sent two teenagers across at halftime to approach the referees.
3. Richmond should not have attempted after the game to convince the referee to not report the behavior of the suspended coaches or to send in the red card for the Richmond player.
For these violations, the two Richmond coaches, Santiago Mendoza and Eduardo Hernandez, are suspended from all NorCal competitions through June 30, 2024.
