Incident Summary: | Allegation that a Manteca coach was coaching while suspended including addressing the team at halftime. Manteca denies this and claimed that they had an unpassed former coach speak to the team at halftime. Further, it has been related that the suspended coach approached the referees after the match and made inappropriate comments. Allegation that after the game a Manteca family threatened the referee and then followed him as he drove away. Manteca denies this and claims the referee was following them. |
Comments: | The PAD Committee found the following violations: 1. Jonathan Ortiz is found to have coached while suspended. This game will not count as part of his suspension and he is suspended an additional 2 games for coaching while suspended. 2. Jonathan Ortiz should have attended the game as a spectator as he was suspended. Spectators are not allowed to approach the match officials after the game to make comments. Jonathan Ortiz is suspended an additional 2 games for approaching the referees after the match. 3. Walter Villareal is suspended 5 games. 3 for directing a racial slur at the referee and 2 for making threatening remarks to the referee. 4. Martha Villarreal is suspended 4 games - 2 for irresponsible behavior and 2 for failure to control the team's players. 5. Ron Stearns is suspended 4 games - 2 for failing to control his team's players and 2 for failing to control his team's spectators. Jonathan Petty was recused from participating in the discussion of this incident. |
