Incident Summary:Mass confrontation between the 2 teams. A number of players from both teams sent off. Allegation that at least 1 of the referees was not currently licensed.
Comments:This incident involved a mass confrontation involving both teams. The PAD Committee found that (a) the center referee assigned by San Jose Rush was not licensed at the time of the game, (b) players from both teams left the bench to join the confrontation, and (c) spectators from both teams entered the field of play.
The PAD Committee recommends that Board of Directors of NorCal Premier conduct a membership review of San Jose Rush as they are currently on probation. The PAD Committee recommends to the Board of Directors that Ravenswood be placed on probation through January 1, 2024. For using an unlicensed referee, San Jose Rush is fined $150 for using an unlicensed referee. The match is ruled a 3-0 forfeit in favor of Ravenswood for San Jose Rush using an unlicensed referee.
The coach of the Ravenswood team, Jimmy Pena, is suspended 4 games - 2 for failing to control his team's spectators and 2 for failing to control his team's players.
The PAD Committee recommends to the NorCal Board of Directors that the Ravenswood team and the San Jose Rush team be expelled from the remainder of the NorCal Premier spring season.
The coach of the San Jose Rush team, Oscar Diaz, is suspended 4 games - 2 for failing to control his team's spectators and 2 for failing to control his team's players.
